Podcast Pop17 Takes a Fresh Look at New Media and its Micro-Celebrities!

With a bubbly style all her own, I'd say Sarah Meyers is sure to see no shortage of viewers of her podcast Pop17, which takes a fresh look at the "micro-celebrities" of the Web and New Media! "It’s called Pop17 because," Sarah points out on her blog, "I read a story on Digg that says 17 is the most popular number. I wanted to find something memorable so I took out the Snap and put in the 17." While the first episode can be seen as more of an introduction, it does a great job setting a pace and presents itself in a way that sparks my interest in episodes to come! Plus, she's using Viddler, which scores major g33k points in my book :P

Until today I had never heard of Pop17, PopSnap nor Sarah Meyers. Perhaps because I'm a little sapling just getting my start in the growing forest of New Media. Regardless, it seems she's been steadily making a name for herself around the web, lifecasting in San Francisco on Justin.tv and crashing quite a few Silicon Valley parties as part of a D7tv series titled "Party Crashers." She's also known to have been kicked out of the Tech Crunch 7 party as an uninvited guest in 2007 only to be added to the invite list the following year for TechCrunch 8. Now that deserves a FTW!
