Podcast Pop17 Takes a Fresh Look at New Media and its Micro-Celebrities!

With a bubbly style all her own, I'd say Sarah Meyers is sure to see no shortage of viewers of her podcast Pop17, which takes a fresh look at the "micro-celebrities" of the Web and New Media! "It’s called Pop17 because," Sarah points out on her blog, "I read a story on Digg that says 17 is the most popular number. I wanted to find something memorable so I took out the Snap and put in the 17." While the first episode can be seen as more of an introduction, it does a great job setting a pace and presents itself in a way that sparks my interest in episodes to come! Plus, she's using Viddler, which scores major g33k points in my book :P

Until today I had never heard of Pop17, PopSnap nor Sarah Meyers. Perhaps because I'm a little sapling just getting my start in the growing forest of New Media. Regardless, it seems she's been steadily making a name for herself around the web, lifecasting in San Francisco on Justin.tv and crashing quite a few Silicon Valley parties as part of a D7tv series titled "Party Crashers." She's also known to have been kicked out of the Tech Crunch 7 party as an uninvited guest in 2007 only to be added to the invite list the following year for TechCrunch 8. Now that deserves a FTW!

Guitar Hero Carabiner for the Techie Troubadour!

For those of you who don’t own a major gaming system, you can now get your Guitar Hero licks on the go. At only $14.99 a pop I’d bet strongly against there being a better Guitar Hero themed Carabiner on the market at a lower price!

Crank dat Lama Boy!

As much as I hate the original "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" I couldn't resist sharing this parody. The guys and gals over at SCG (Sanctified Crack Gorilla) Productions crank out yet another "Farked" up video on their Fark.com inspired channel over on Superdeluxe, Turner Brodcasting's comedic video social network.

"Watch him crank it. Watch him roll. Watch him crank dat Lama Boy and Supaman dat ho. Or meditate. Either one, get the MP3 here!"

If that had you laughing go watch more from the gang at FARK.TV on their channel at SuperDeluxe.com!
